Grandma Puts Erik "In His Place"

Grandma Kuroiwa and Erik

Reports are coming in about Erik's recent trip to the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. While there, Erik allegedly stayed with a real, living Japanese grandmother who "put him in his place," according to one well-placed source in Kyushu.

Erik lived Japanese-style with Grandma Kuroiwa for a few days, including on the most serious of all Japanese holidays -- New Year's Day.  On that day, Erik took part in a traditional, Kyushu-style holiday meal involving large amounts of (rather tasty) fish, fish eggs, rice in various formulations.

After this great meal, Erik soon discovered that "Japanese-style living" apparently includes taking scalding-hot baths in a bathroom at the approximate temperature of ice. Japanese-style living at Mrs. Kuroiwa's house also meant that Erik was constantly, constantly fed and given coffee or tea, and even the occasional piece of toast.  The "best part," according to Erik, was using a "traditional toilet," meaning one without plumbing. "I really got an, er, sense of traditional Japan while at Grandma-san's house."

"Grandma-san was very nice to me, and I'm honored to have stayed in her house for these three nights," Erik stated to ENN reporters at Kyushu's biggest city, Fukuoka. "That said, I really wish she had heat in her bathroom."

Stay with ENN for more revelations about Erik's trip to Kyushu, including news about Grandma-san's attempts to get Erik to return "soon."
