Graduation Ceremony Marked by Standing, Bowing

Graduates
--
RITTO, Japan
“Kiri-sss!” All students stand up in a flash, achieving full
standing position in 0.23 seconds. “…” “Re!”
All students bow, return to standing position, then sit down on cue.
Then, speeches. Then, “Kiri-sss!” “…”
“Re!” One more bow, then another speech. This continued
for several minutes, about 40 minutes, then, the students were graduated.
All would have went well, except for the fact that Erik couldn’t seem
to get the standing, bowing, and sitting times quite right. “I was
still bowing when everyone was already sitting, and sitting when I should
have been standing,” Erik said, then added that he was “front and
center” for the ceremony because of his position as a teacher at Ritto
High School. “Which was great.”
When asked whether Erik actions ruined the ceremony, the school’s
principal blinked and said, “Who’s Erik?”
Stay with ENN as we continue to watch for more of Erik’s cultural
blunders.
