No One Laughing at Erik's Jokes

Students react to Erik's "hilarious" joke

-- RITTO, Japan

Witnesses report that Erik's "humor and remarkable wit" are "lost on" his students, who are forced to listen to a constant barrage of Erik's jokes every day.  Sadly, the students "have no idea" what Erik is talking about.

More often than not, the students just sit in "eerie silence," perhaps pondering the meaning of Erik's joke, or perhaps they simply wish Erik would shut up.

No students were available for comment at press time.

Remarkably, if the students are told that the joke is an "American Joke," they instantly begin to laugh.  "I don't understand it," Erik told reporters at a press conference held in the school's courtyard, "but apparently all 'American Jokes' are funny.  So, if I see that famous eerie silence, I always just say that it's an 'American Joke.'"

Despite the setback in his plans to sweep Japan with his unique blend of David Letterman's humor, Erik has told ENN that he will continue to tell jokes to his students.  "If all else fails, at least I'll make myself laugh."  When asked how often Erik laughs at his own even while nobody else does, Erik ran away, clearly on the verge of a breakdown.

Stay with ENN as we closely monitor the success of Erik's jokes at Ritto High School.
